I love having two little girls so much.
Playing dress ups is basically a daily activity that we must do or the day is just “so boring” as my almost four year old describes it. It might be a leather jacket to make the outfit slightly cooler, maybe a pair of sunnies for Arlo as she likes to be a little bit extra, or my favourite when Milla thinks it’s appropriate to wear tappy high heels to the supermarket adding an extra half hour to our trip – not ideal when you’re going for a ‘quick shop’.
With H&M’s new spring range, the girls get to wear these super cute outfits that really compliment their little personalities so well. Fun, playful with a hint of black letting you know they are quite serious too!
My girls are able to select their own outfits whenever they want, I feel it’s a great way for them to express who they are and encourages them to be themselves so they can appear and show up how they like just as I was taught as a child.
I remember I would chose options that had my little belly out, black boots and a leopard jacket which now I look back it basically sums my fashion sense up = absolutely no idea, but rocking it like I do!
As much as I love the outfits I got to wear, it’s very evident to see how much they have changed since then. Our children of today have so much more style and variety, but I must admit the jeans I wore when I was 6 I’d kill for them to fit me again. High waisted, thick with the faded washed out look. Thanks for making me so trendy Mum, now it’s my turn to show you trendy on my kids.
Being able to express yourself at a young age is a vital part of growing up, letting your kids be their own unique individual is actually exciting as a parent to see what they choose (even if we don’t particularly agree) as you watch their personality shine through.
Here’s a few snaps of my girls absolutely loving the new kids spring range with H&M, they love being told they’re models and acting accordingly! They both have different ideas of what a model is of course though.
Milla has the hand on hip, catwalk set up happening. She’s quite girly and would never miss an opportunity to select something with a frill option to give her that ultimate spin look when she twirls.
Arlo on the other hand struts her stuff with more of a bounce in her step looking like a little tough guy. She loves the solid standing pose with the serious face breaking into complete giggles, there’s no fancy glamorous catwalk about her she just wants to dance.
They are chalk and cheese which really just gives them more outfit choices for when they’re older to mix and match while they’re hopefully happy to be sharing their wardrobes. No fights! That’s a thing right? Actually getting along with your siblings and kindly sharing clothes?
Well look, however they dress, I’m proud of who they are and right now I’m dying over these cute pieces out of the H&M spring collection.
